Katherine McFarlin

Katherine (they/them/theirs) received a BA in near eastern languages and civilizations from the University of Chicago, specializing in Egyptology. Before starting their graduate studies at Buffalo, Katherine spent two years as an objects conservation intern at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. They also worked as a conservation assistant at the Mansueto Library Preservation Lab in Chicago, and completed multiple workshops on archaeological Greek pottery at the Balkan Heritage Field School in Sozopol, Bulgaria. Katherine is the Class of 2023 representative and spent the summer of 2021 interning at the Cleveland Museum of Art in textiles conservation. They spent their third year at the Brooklyn Museum of Art specializing in objects conservation and was recently appointed the Mellon Foundation Conservation Fellow in Objects Conservation at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
