The Williamstown + Atlanta Art Conservation Centers (W+AACC) seeks a full-time Paper Conservator at the Assistant or Associate level for our growing Atlanta lab. The selected applicant will work with a wide range of materials and cultural heritage resources, from historic to modern, belonging to a mix of institutions such as museums, universities, historic houses, and private clients. The George Washington University Museum and The Textile Museum is welcoming applications for an Associate Conservator (Textiles) position. The posting can be found here with details on the scope of the position, salary range and a link to apply. The Walters Art Museum has an opening for an Associate Book Conservator. The Associate Book Conservator is responsible for the preservation and conservation of the Walters' collections of manuscripts, rare books, and works of art on paper. They will join a team of conservation professionals with specialties in objects, paintings, preventive, and conservation science. They will work collaboratively across the Department of Conservation, Collections, and Technical Research to implement exhibitions, installations, rotations, programs, and other projects. Modern Art Conservation, a large New York City-based conservation practice, is seeking a full-time paintings conservator. The studio specializes in the examination and treatment of late 19th century, modern, and contemporary paintings and painted objects. Our clients include museums, galleries, private and corporate collections, auction houses, artist estates/foundations, and contemporary artists. The team comprises conservators, technicians/preparators, a conservation photographer, and registrars/administrators. To meet the needs of our clients and provide the highest quality conservation, the practice continues to expand. Conservators of traditional easel paintings or painted objects are encouraged to apply, but some interest and/or experience in the conservation of modern and contemporary paintings is desired. We value stability and seek candidates who are looking to join a close-knit team, grow professionally in the position, and form a long-term work relationship. The applicant must be a graduate of a recognized conservation training program and demonstrate a career interest in the conservation of paintings and/or painted objects. Candidates should be knowledgeable in art history and have an interest in working in a fast-paced environment in which time is spent on treatments and condition reporting for clients both in and outside the studio. The Midwest Art Conservation Center (MACC) in Minneapolis, MN, seeks applicants for a paper conservator. This is a full-time position with occasional travel. MACC is a nonprofit center providing comprehensive services in Paintings, Objects, Paper, Textiles, and Preventive Conservation. The staff of fourteen is collaborative, collegial, and works innovatively with the curatorial and collection professionals at hundreds of non-profit collecting institutions including fine art museums, historical societies, universities, Native cultural centers, city governments, libraries, and archives. In addition, MACC works with private individuals and businesses. MACC laboratories are located within the Minneapolis Institute of Art. Applicants must have an advanced degree in art conservation with a specialization in paper conservation. A minimum of 3 years post graduate experience is preferred. The title, responsibilities, and salary will be commensurate with experience. The position provides an annual salary of $72,000 - $96,000 along with generous benefits including medical, dental, 403B contributions, vacation and sick time, AIC membership, and professional development. The position is open to US citizens and others with legal eligibility to work in the US. The David Booth Conservation Department at The Museum of Modern Art, New York is pleased to offer a two-year fellowship in the conservation of photographic materials, starting in September 2026. The Museum of Modern Art is committed to nurturing the next generation of curators, art historians, conservators, scientists and other arts professionals. This Conservation Fellowship is part of a distinctive museum-wide fellowship program that offers opportunities for training and development through immersion in the Museum's departments, working alongside and mentored by experienced staff members. All fellows also participate in a core methods and practice program with MoMA staff and invited guests which explores object-based research and inquiry; public engagement in a museum context; and arts leadership and the role of cultural institutions. Salary: $54,000 (plus benefits and vacation), with $3,500 annually for research and travel. The Williamstown +Atlanta Art Conservation Centers is seeking a Conservator and Lab Head for our Atlanta location. Specialty is open with a preference for paintings or paper. The position requires an individual who enjoys both the challenges of conservation treatment and administrative leadership, including overseeing daily lab operations, setting priorities, guiding workflow, and supporting staff through supervision, mentoring, and evaluation.  We anticipate considering a range of candidates from those with significant management experience to individuals who are ready to step into this level of responsibility for the first time. The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Library is seeking a Conservation Technician. The Conservation Technician works in the Preservation and Conservation Services department of the University Library and will report to the Senior Conservator. Preservation and Conservation Services supports all University Library collections, including circulating and special collections. The Conservation Technician reports to the Senior Conservator, but works across circulating and special collections, sometimes working under the direction of the Supervisor of General Collections Conservation or the Assistant Conservator.
