Please join the Exceptional Education Department for the Winter 2015 Horace Mann Graduate Research Symposium. The symposium, held at the end of each fall and spring semester, provides an opportunity for EXE graduate-level teacher candidates to showcase their research projects and share effective practices with colleagues and community educators. Central to this event is the notion of using data to determine efficacy of instruction; and to use data to align instruction to the unique needs of students with special needs.
Registration and continental breakfast begins in the Classroom Building lobby at 8:30 am. The opening plenary session at 9:00 am in the C-122 amphitheater will feature a keynote presentation by Jevon Hunter, Woods-Beals Endowed Chair in Urban Education and assistant professor of elementary education and reading. Concurrent presentations of master's research projects will be held in the B-wing classrooms immediately following the plenary session.
The Horace Mann Graduate Research Symposium is free and open to the campus community; however, in order to accomodate seating and breakfast needs, pre-registration is requested. Email Warren Gleckel or Theresa Janczak to register or with questions.
