Aprille comes to us from the Rakow Research Library of the Corning Museum of Glass, by way of the Rochester Institute of Technology, where she recently earned an M.F.A. in Ceramics from the School of American Crafts. She brings with her extensive experience in academic and special libraries and has a master’s in Library and Information Science and an M.A. in American Studies. Prior to holding the position of associate librarian for public services at the Corning Museum of Glass she served as an information literacy librarian at SUNY-Buffalo, where she received a Service Excellence Award for her participation in planning the workshop series, Teaching and the Library. Aprille has served professionally as President of the Board for the South Central Regional Library Council, chair of the Standards Committee of the Art Libraries Society of North America, and with the American Library Association. She is a published author, including a chapter in Art Museum Libraries and Librarianship; spoken at workshops and lectures, and curated several exhibitions. Aprille also teaches ceramics and has exhibited nationally, is a resident artist at Buffalo Arts Studio, and previously worked as an oral historian.
