Emily Mercer
Emily attended the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia where she earned a BA in historic preservation and participated in a field school at the Sherwood Forest Plantation in Stafford County. She completed several pre-program internships at Colonial Williamsburg in the paper, textile, wooden artifact, and archaeology conservation labs. Emily was also a conservation intern at the Chrysler Museum of Art in Norfolk in the paintings lab and presented a poster during the 2021 American Institute for Conservation virtual conference. Last summer, she interned in photograph conservation at the National Gallery of Art before going on to complete her third-year internship at the Library of Congress. Emily is currently a Photograph Conservation Fellow at The Northeast Document Conservation Center in Andover, MA.
