Historic New England is pleased to offer a Postgraduate Mellon Fellowship in the Conservation of Objects.  Candidates with specialties in Wooden Artifacts and/or Textiles will also be considered. The term of the posting is one year with the possibility of renewal for a second year, commencing in September 2024. The position is designed to provide advanced training in conservation, broadening the fellow’s technical skills and knowledge of a wide variety of objects and materials from the collection. Historic New England seeks motivated applicants from all backgrounds and values diversity with regard to culture, race, ethnicity, gender identity, and ability.

The Menil Collection is pleased to offer an advanced training fellowship in objects conservation supported by the Mellon Foundation. The term of the fellowship is one year, with the possibility of renewal for an additional two years, commencing in the fall of 2024.

Integrated within the iconic Renzo Piano-designed Menil Collection, the conservation facilities comprise shared and dedicated studios for the conservation of paintings, objects, and works of art on paper, as well as analysis and imaging. Since its founding in 1987, the Menil Collection Conservation Department has distinguished itself by publishing treatments and materials research and participating in artist interviews through the Artists Documentation Program.

The fellowship will provide an opportunity for the conservator to broaden their experience through participation in all activities related to the treatment, installation, exhibition, loan, and research of three-dimensional works of art. The Menil Collection's holdings in objects are diverse, with particular strengths in arts of the Ancient Mediterranean, Africa, and 20th century and contemporary art, and include outdoor sculpture, time-based media, and sculptural works in a multitude of media. During the fellowship period, the Fellow will, in consultation with the Objects Conservators and Director of Conservation, develop and undertake a research project, ideally resulting in a peer-reviewed publication or public presentation. The Fellow will also participate in a museum-wide interns and fellows cohort program to enhance their professional development and create a network of colleagues.

The successful applicant will receive a stipend of $53,000 and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical and dental insurance, paid holidays, sick and vacation days, and a 401(k) plan. In addition, up to $1,500 will be provided to offset relocation expenses, and generous travel funds are provided to support research and professional development.

The National Gallery of Canada seeks a senior manager for its conservation department. The incumbent will work with a team of conservation professionals and colleagues throughout the organization to manage day-to-day and long-term conservation activities.  The National Gallery of Canada, located in the capital city of Ottawa, Ontario, is Canada's national art museum.  The museum's building takes up 46,621 square metres (501,820 sq ft), with 12,400 square metres (133,000 sq ft) of space used for exhibiting art; making the museum one of the largest art museums in North America by exhibition space.  The museum's permanent collection includes over 93,000 works from European, American, Asian, Canadian, and Indigenous artists. ¡Aquí Estamos!: Latinx Art at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston Conservation Fellow
The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston is offering a Conservation Fellow the opportunity to compile a comprehensive survey of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston's collection of Latinx art. The fellow also participates in all activities in the Conservation Center and the Museum, including acquisition and loan exams. They will lead individual treatment and research initiatives and contribute to collaborative efforts led by the Head of Lab and/or the Chairman, the Department of Conservation that will further conservation and technical art historical research at the Museum. This is a two-year, full-time appointment with a possible six (6) month extension. The anticipated term is September 9th, 2024 to August 28, 2026. The Conservation & Collections Manager is responsible for the 
conservation and restoration of collections while overseeing the care and preservation of collections and historical 
interior spaces, which include furnishings, decorative arts, textiles, paintings, outdoor sculptures, vehicles, and 
architectural features and historic finishes. The Conservation & Collections Manager performs a wide range of advanced conservation and administrative duties requiring specialized knowledge of collections materials. They provide both strategic guidance and practical experience about the collections' long-term preservation and oversee the day-to-day workload of the collections care team. They
will also work with the Archivist and Registrar to assist in prioritizing and ensuring completion of conservation needs.

The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum (ISGM) seeks applicants for the position of Associate Textiles Conservator. The Associate Textiles Conservator is responsible for the conservation, preservation, and study of the textiles collection at the ISGM, which spans a broad range of cultures and time periods and includes tapestries, embroideries, vestments, laces, and furnishing fabrics. The Associate Textiles Conservator conducts treatment and research on textiles that are a part of the permanent display and manages refurbishment projects to replace or reproduce textile objects and upholstery that can no longer be displayed. The Associate Textiles Conservator also helps to advance the goals of the ISGM strategic plan, including outreach, programming, and a commitment to diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion. The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $77,000 depending on experience. This role will entail the exciting prospect of sourcing and building a functioning Paper Conservation studio from the ground up.
