We are excited to share with alumni and friends our 2020 celebration plans. The department is working hard to make this year special to commemorate this important anniversary. Please check this page frequently for updates and more details.
All of our 50th anniversary events throughout 2020 are open to any and all department alumni and friends. We will be sending updates via email with more details and ticket pricing for the Gala. If you don’t already receive our online Newsletter and updates, please email email@example.com to be added.
We only turn 50 once so we’d love you to join us for our celebration events during the 2020 year marking our 50 years educating conservation graduate students.
Alumni Reunion @ AIC
All alumni are invited to join us at the American Institute for Conservation’s 2020 conference in Salt Lake City for an exclusive Buffalo-Cooperstown alumni reunion. There will be food, drink, and special alumni swag to mark our 50th anniversary. We are hoping to celebrate Jonathan Thornton’s retirement as well. More information on the date and time of this event forthcoming. Go to the AIC website for more information and to register for the conference.
Class of 2020 Graduation
Join us as the Class of 2020 gives their final presentations followed by a celebration reception.
We will host notable alumni for a special symposium event.
Visit the department to see our facilities and view student treatment projects. If you have never toured the Buffalo program or haven’t been in a while, this is a great time to visit.
CELEBRATION EVENT & ALUMNI ART AUCTION
An exclusive event featuring food, drink, and a curated art auction with pieces donated and created by alumni. More information on tickets coming shortly. If you are interested in donating artwork, books, or conservation tools/materials to the auction, please contact Aprille Nace (firstname.lastname@example.org), our department librarian, who will get in contact with the members of our alumni board managing this event.
2020 CONSERVATION EXHIBIT
There will be 50th Anniversary exhibits at the Buffalo Museum of Science, Buffalo History Museum, Buffalo & Erie County Public Library, and Burchfield Penney Arts Center to highlight conservation treatments the department has completed over the past 50 years. We will have a ticket that will get guests into all of the venues to see each exhibit.
