LaStarsha McGarity

LaStarsha completed an internship at the Brooklyn Museum of Art this past summer, and is currently enjoying her third year in the objects lab at the Saint Louis Art Museum. She is a alumna of Texas Southern University, a historically Black college or university (HBCU) in Houston, where she received a BA in Art and with a minor in Chemistry. After completing her BA, LaStarsha was the Director's Fellow at the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Andrew W. Mellon Conservation Intern at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History, and the Ford Foundation Conservation Intern at the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art in Washington, D.C. She served as the summer 2017 conservation intern at both the Museum of Mississippi History and the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum in Jackson, Mississippi.
