Presentation: Improving Cultural Access - Exploring the 'Challenger Community News' Archive

Posted: July 19, 2018
12:30 p.m. | Burchfield Penney Art Center at Buffalo State Peter and Elizabeth C. Tower Auditorium

Members of the Buffalo State and Western New York communities are invited to attend a presentation by Marcella Griffin, Buffalo State graduate student in nonprofit administration, and Heather Gring, Burchfield Penney archivist.

Ms. Griffin, with the support of Ms. Gring, has completed the first half of her project titled "Improving Cultural Access: Exploring the Challenger Community News Archive." She will give an overview of her work from the spring semester and discuss the cultural impact of the Challenger Community News.

The purpose of this project is to organize historical pictures and documents from the Challenger according to accepted archival standards so that they are accessible and available to aid with research and learning, especially in Western New York schools.

Parking is available on campus near the Burchfield free of charge for this event.
